The Institution is managed by a seven-member Board of Directors composed of members of the academic community and executives with special know-how and many years of experience in the Management of Companies and Organizations.

Ioannis Machikas
Mr. Ioannis Machikas is President of Board of the TMEDE MICROFINANCE SOLUTIONS since July 2022.
Rural and Surveying Engineer N.T.U.A., Engineering Consultant for Public Projects, Project Manager for Cadastral Survey Projects. He has extensive experience in implementation, supervision, quality control and management of surveying, urban planning and transportation projects. Also, he has been very active as a technical advisor for real estate development.
He is member of the Board of TOPODOMIKI Societe Anonyme of Consulting Engineering and Geoinformatics

Sotiris Karkalakos

Sotiris Karkalakos
Sotiris Karkalakos holds the position of Professor at University of Piraeus.
He received his Ph.D. in Applied Economics from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA) and an M.Sc. in Financial Economics from Florida Atlantic University (USA). He graduated Summa Cum Laude in Economics (B.A.) from the University of Piraeus (Greece).
He has previously held positions at the University of Exeter (UK), Keele University (UK), DePaul University (USA) and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA).
He participates in executive boards and committees, both in public and private sector.
His main research interests are empirical regional economics, corporate taxation, spatial analysis of sustainability, and microeconometrics. His work combines expertise in valuation strategy of real estate assets, spatial allocation of financial activity and competition effects. He is interested in the design of spatial networks mostly likely to promote sales or reallocate resources (i.e., transfer pricing).
He regularly publishes papers in international journals such as European Economic Review, Canadian Journal of Economics, Regional Science and Urban Economics, Energy Economics, International Journal of Finance and Economics, Journal of Macroeconomics, Applied Economics, International Business Review and Journal of Applied Economics.

Charalampos Agiropoulos

Charalampos Agiropoulos
Charalampos (Harris) Agiropoulos is a senior Lecturer and Postgraduate Fellow at the Department of Economics, Business, and International Studies of the University of Piraeus.
At the beginning of 2014, he collaborated with the Hellenic Atomic Energy Commission, while in 2019 he undertook the econometric analysis of the Ministry of Labor’s Manpower Needs Diagnostic Mechanism, simultaneously participating in various research programs funded by the European Union (ESPA) related to transport, energy and environment sector.
In 2015, he was appointed as the Academic Director of Postgraduate Programs at the University of Bolton UK and in 2018 he became the General Manager of the New York College Educational Group. Harris has taught in several academic courses at the Universities of Bolton and Greenwich, UK as well as at Université Toulouse, FR.
Since 2018, he has been serving as the head of the Investment and Risk Committees for the TMEDE Fund. He holds a PhD in Economics, Master’s Degree in Applied Statistics (M.Sc.) from the University of Piraeus (2007) and he is a graduate of the Department of Mathematics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2003).
His research interests focus on the fields of Applied Econometrics, Financial Analysis as well as in the fields of Labor Economics, Environment and Tourism. His current research studies include machine learning techniques in regression analysis for timeseries. His research work has been published in highly ranked peer-reviewed international scientific journals.

Marilena Bouzoura

Marilena Bouzoura
Seasoned professional with more than 25 years of experience in corporate governance, business development, and people management as well as in operational and financial restructuring. With a strong business and strategy orientation Marilena has led major initiatives or businesses and worn many operating hats before taking her current role as the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Board Member of TMEDE Microfinance Solutions, the 1st licensed microfinance institution in Greece, with an innovative, fully digital business model.
Before joining TMEDE Group, as a Chief Strategy Officer, Marilena was an Assurance and Advisory Partner at Grant Thornton for more than 20 years. She excelled as leading Advisory Partner in the areas of operational improvement, organizational design, corporate governance, insolvency, and M&As. Her business-oriented focus and effective management skills have resulted in achieving the qualitative and measurable objectives set. Holding a position in the leadership team, she was actively involved in the management of the company, as a member of the Board of Directors, the Management Committee and the Crisis Management Committee.
She holds a degree from the School of Economics and Public Administration of Panteion University of Political and Social Sciences and a Special Training Certification for Executives from the Senior Executive Leadership Program at Harvard Business School. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and holds an Insolvency Practitioner Certification from the Ministry of Justice. She is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Greece (SOEL), and the Economic Chamber of Greece.

Vasilis Dikaioulias

Vasilis Dikaioulias
Vassilis is a graduate of the Law School of the University of Saarbrueken, Germany.
Since 1993 he has been working as a Business Consultant in a wide range of consulting services. He deals diligently with a full range of investment programs coming from national and European resources both in Greece, and in the Eastern countries and the Balkans, as well as with the implementation and audits of the co-financed programs.
He has also vast experience in all kinds of issues related to the legal and regulatory framework of the Greek State. Furthermore, during his career he dealt significantly with the private sector, in matters of investment and large-scale investing projects, business planning and restructuring, feasibility studies and viability of investment projects, but also in matters of quality certification, developing special organizational skills.
Since 2016, he has been intensively involved not only in projects of adaptation standards, as protected by the relevant legislation (e.g. GDPR), but also with projects providing consulting services addressed to the Local Authorities, the General Government and the wider Public Sector, such as action planning projects and projects regarding searching sources of funding (e.g. NSRF -National Strategic Reference Framework, Public Investment Programs, etc.), Internal Audit projects and Sustainable Development projects of Local Authorities under the supervision of a group of people, as Project Leader. Additionally, to above all this he has an extensive experience in the design, programming, and proper execution of big multidimensional projects.

Postgraduate Economics Degree M.Sc. (ECON), University of London, University College London. B.A. Pierce (Deree) College Athens, Department of Economics.
Forty years work experience, in Greece and abroad, as Business Consultant, Financial Consultant, Accounting and Tax Consultant. Employed in top positions as Chief Financial Officer and Financial Controller, mainly of the Industrial Sector ex Member of the Board Attica Bank.

George Margaronis

George Margaronis
Finance professional with over 12 years experience working in multinational and well reputed companies in Greece and Switzerland.
He grands a BSc in Business and Management from University of Piraeus , an MSc in Finance and Banking from University of Piraeus and an MSc in Audit and Accounting from the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Greece.
He is also an ACCA affiliate and holds a Class A professional ID from the Economic Chamber of Greece.
